Meet Tina

I am an Iconic Beauty because I’m just an average girl with above-average dreams. I don’t fit the mold for industry standards for a “top model” and I don’t have a huge social media following yet but I work hard towards my dream and make it a priority. I know that looks fade and true beauty lies within. I don’t believe in breaking others down for personal gain becauseI believe there is a place in the world for everyone to do what they want in life. At Iconic Beauty, we believe in one another and genuinely want others to succeed. We believes in the hard work, diligence and empowerment of others and once we fulfill our goals, it is important to us to help others do so as well. We don’t do this just for ourselves. We do it for our families, our children, our friends, and our “whys.” Lastly, I’ve been taught that it is important in life that if you have a platform and can reach many people, you use it for good. A few of my purposes in life is to fulfill my personal dream and inspire other women at the same time, that is what Iconic Beauties do. That is what being Iconic and Beautiful is.

Occupation: Gymnastics Coach and Mom
Current City: Woodbridge, VA (Washington, DC Suburb)
Ideal City: Los Angeles, CA
Ethnic Background? German, Irish, Scottish, Dutch and Congolese
Strange Hobby: Grocery shopping. I also love picnics! Anywhere I can lay out a blanket and have a whole bunch of snacks in the warm sun is perfect to me.
Three Words That Describe Me: Adventurous, resilient, compassionate
Three Fun Facts:

  1. I went to High School in Africa (a là Cady Heron from Mean Girls!) and would spend my summers working at the American Embassy with my parents.
  2. I am an “introverted extrovert”… I love people. I am always smiling and I get along with everyone but inside I am dying with anxiety! (that’s the Gemini in me!)
  3. I am a hopeless romantic, I love The Bachelor/Bachelorette. I don’t think I’ve missed a season since season 1 (not ashamed at all!)
" No matter where you are in life, inspire and empower the women around you. Success is never reached alone. And, wisdom and wealth are sweeter shared."

Real Life Me

The Real Me

What was your first “I made it” moment? Hearing my name being called as an Iconic Beauty model at the 2015 Competition in LA. It was validation for me after years of doubt and low self-esteem that I could do it. That there were actually industry professionals who believed in me and saw my potential. It opened doors for me and sparked a confidence in me like I haven’t ever experienced before and gave me the tools to go out and pursue modeling aggressively. Now I am not only represented by Iconic Beauty, but agencies in New York City and Philadelphia as well.
What is your favorite thing about yourself? I really like the fact that I genuinely love people and try to treat everyone as I would like to be treated. I appreciate everyone’s differences and I try to see the good in all people (almost to a fault.)
What are you really good at? Hand/Eye coordination (throw me anything unexpectedly, I’ll catch it) and Geography lol
What is your proudest accomplishment? My daughter. When I became a mother, I wasn’t nearly as close to where I wanted to be in life. I still had so many dreams and goals that still needed to be accomplished and I had no idea how I was going to balance being a mom, living my own dreams and reaching my own goals, all while raising a self-loving, respectful and beautiful young girl. Raising a daughter who will ultimately mold her life based off of what she knows from ME is scary, yet I did it. I had her at the age of 22 and became a single mom by the time I was 23. With help from my family, I’m raising my daughter to be the most well adjusted, well-behaved, respectful and caring three year old I know. She is just so beautiful inside and out, kind and perfect and for that I am proud.
What keeps you going when you feel like giving up? I personally know how short life can be, in an instant it can be gone. Knowing there may always be a mountain to climb and a storm to weather, but also knowing how amazing my life could be at the end if I just keep on, is what keeps me going.
What is your Biggest/Top Priority? My daughter who looks up to me and depends on me for everything. Being a good role model to her, being happy, having healthy relationships, fulfilling my dreams and graduating with my Masters Degree next year are all top priorities to me, especially since she will model her life after mine.
