Meet Marissa

I am an Iconic Beauty because I always strive to see the beauty in others. That’s what helps you understand another person. I lead by example in trying to help others, especially when they are at their lowest points. I know how hard it is to feel like you have nothing to offer so I strive to always at least help one, a few, or hundreds of people see the beauty within themselves.

Real Life Me

The Real Me

What was your first “I made it” moment? My first one was definitely when I got my own apartment in San Diego, it’s the independence I’ve always wanted in the city I had dreamed of living in.
What do you do in your free time? I’m basically a gym rat because I love working out. I also love building my fitness and training business.
What is your favorite thing about yourself? My ability to do my best at putting myself in another person’s shoes before making any kind of judgement. I take pride in being a very understanding person.
What are you really good at? I’m good at making people laugh. I’m also good at staying focused on what my goals are and working hard to achieve them.
What are some things you need to practice more? I’m forever trying to stick to healthy eating habits! I usually do a good job, but I sometimes slip an extra cheat meal of carne asada fries in.
What are some things you’d rather avoid? Drama and negativity. They are a waste of time.
What is your proudest accomplishment? Making it to the NCAA National Championships for the 4×400 meter relay in college.
What is something new you’d like to learn? I really want to learn how to surf and longboard!
What inspires you? Every day I’m driven to do better to remind my present-self and show my teenage-self, that I am worth it- I deserve to be where I am today, I deserve everything I‘ve ever dreamed of and I have everything in me to work towards it and achieve it.
What makes you cry? Videos of military homecomings. I get instant tears as soon as they surprise their loved ones upon returning home.
What keeps you going when you feel like giving up? Remembering how hard I worked to get this far, and that I owe it to myself to keep going, as well as wanting to make my friends and family proud.
Most people don’t know this, but…? I have always secretly wanted to be an actress! I’ve recently participated in a few roles, so I really want to work on that!
