Introducing the NEW Iconic Beauty

The idea of Iconic Beauty came from my drive to break the mold and it has taken a lot to get Iconic Beauty where it is today.

On my end, it has been an endless cycle of creating and recreating my business plan (multiple times) because what I originally thought Iconic Beauty was, isn’t what it really is, or what it should be. Iconic Beauty is not a beauty pageant. It’s not a modeling agency. It’s not a clothing line. It’s not a competition. None of those things are good enough to be what Iconic Beauty is. So I changed plans a LOT since the original 2015 Competition. And after I had a more clear vision on what I was going after, I hired some really incredible people to help me bring my idea to life.

Photographer

Like Iconic Beauty photographer, Charlie Couch. He’s done a lot of shoots with us, including the Hawaii shoot. I love working with him because not only is he extremely talented as a photographer, but he’s just an all-around wonderful person. I first shot with him when I was 15 years old and over the last (OMG) 10 YEARS, he’s become a great friend of mine. He was the first photographer to really believe in me and I will forever be grateful for his friendship, his belief in me, his belief in Iconic Beauty, and his belief in my girls.

Life Hack: Good people are hard to come by these days. When you find them, keep them. Charlie is a keeper.

Graphic Designer & Developer

And Iconic Beauty’s web and graphic designer, Ashley Cameron. One of my biggest struggles in 2015 was finding a graphic designer who could bring my vision to life. So when I came across Ashley (through some good ol’ endless Pinterest and behance searching) it was almost a love at first sight kind of thing. I loved her work and prayed that she was the one. Only through working with her, did I realize that finding her was more than a dream come true! Through 5 rounds of logos, 2 rounds of email signatures, 1 round of website design and 1 round of email templates (because she killed it on the first shot!) and countless emails, I have found her to be very attentive, professional, kind and creative.

Added Bonus: She loves Iconic Beauty! It’s been an honor working with her, and I’m excited to see what our collaborative future has in store!

Videographer

And finally, Iconic Beauty videographer, Brian Christ of Brian Christ Films. He has worked on quite a few projects with Iconic Beauty this year, including our trip to Hawaii. He’s great at what he does and, he too, is a great person! He even spent his BIRTHDAY working with us in Hawaii! My Beauties and I love working with him and feel comfortable in front of his camera- which, especially for beginning models, is a HUGE deal! I can’t thank Brian enough for his professionalism, creativity and passion for his work. Because of that combination, we have great videos to share our Iconic Beauty experience with you!

That’s just an itsy bitsy glimpse at what has gone on behind-the-scenes to creating the NEW Iconic Beauty. And even though it was really frustrating to feel like there wasn’t any “real progress” for such a long time, all of the changes that were made have been absolutely needed and I’m glad that I put so much time and effort into each detail because it’s all paying off! Through many, many trials and tribulations, I finally have Iconic Beauty exactly where it needs to be and I have never been more clear on my vision with Iconic Beauty. Now I am confident in what Iconic Beauty truly is and where it’s going.

What about the Beauties, you ask?

Well, since I signed my Beauties in 2015, there have been a lot of homework assignments. A lot of LEARNING (because prior to the 2015 Modeling Competition, almost none of them had any experience. So during their reign with Iconic Beauty, they’ve learned a lot about modeling and how to break into the industry.) A lot of practicing. A lot of planning. A lot of growing. And a lot of TRUST. A lot of trusting in a stranger’s dream that they couldn’t even really see because I didn’t have a clear enough vision of it myself. I had a general idea, a GOOD idea, but not a clear one, until I got to know each of them.

So, as Iconic Beauty brand ambassadors, my Beauties and I have gone through a lot together and it’s been a truly remarkable journey. Each of them holds a very dear place in my heart and it’s for that exact reason that I continue doing what I do. There have been so many times where I’ve thought about throwing in the towel when it got too hard, or when I felt like I wasn’t getting where I wanted to be. But at the end of the day, when I remind myself that I’m not just doing this for me and that I’m doing it for other people like me, I find the strength to continue on. And it’s been worth it every step of the way.

You see… My life is a dream come true. And I want this for everyone who truly deserves it. But getting to this point in my life hasn’t been an easy journey. I have been told my whole life that I wasn’t good enough, or tall enough, or pretty enough to live the dream I envisioned for myself, by people who didn’t even care to take the time to get to know me. They just wanted to put me down because it was fun to see me hurt. Or they didn’t want to see me live out my dreams because they didn’t have it in them to live out their own.

Even worse than that, after I became a Playmate, I was shunned and immediately unfit for the only industry that made me feel like I finally fit in somewhere- which was pageants. And it didn’t matter how good of a person I am, or how active I was in my community, or how much I loved what I was doing, or how much time and effort I put into giving back- I couldn’t be a beauty queen anymore because you can’t be naked and still be a role model.

It’s unfortunate that the world still looks at things for what they used to be, not what they should be or for what they actually are. But change is good. Adapting is necessary. Evolving is important. That’s what Iconic Beauty is. Iconic Beauty is challenging the status quo and breaking the mold because there’s so much Beauty in writing your OWN story.

Iconic Beauty is not just telling people that it’s okay to have a past as long as you don’t stay there; as long as you’re willing to create a new future for yourself. It’s not just telling people that it’s okay to have tattoos and piercings or be any body size or ethnicity. It’s not just telling people that you don’t have to have a high GPA or degree in order to be successful. It’s not just telling people that you can transform your dream into your reality. We are PROVING it. We are raising the bar, changing lives, breaking the mold and getting ready to live our dreams! And we are doing it in an environment where it’s safe to do so. It’s safe to share our dreams with each other without feeling silly or judged. It’s safe to be ourselves because we care so much about each other that we like each other’s quirks and what other people would look at as “flaws”. We are safe with each other because there’s no such thing as “impossible”.

So, it is my pleasure and such an honor to introduce to you the NEW Iconic Beauty. Where dreams come true, friendships are made, success is ignited and anything is possible. Welcome to Iconic Beauty.
